Deschutes River Fly Fishing Report
Cory Godell Reports on 10.29.2015
Steelhead
The steelhead fishing is RED HOT right now on the Deschutes River.
Cooler weather and overcast skies has made for some of the best fishing
this fall so far. But don’t wait too long to hit the river because
there is only 2 months left in the Deschutes steelhead season. Fishing
should continue to be good right on through the end of the year.
Trout
Don’t forget trout season closes on the Lower Deschutes from Pelton Dam
down to the northern end of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation at the
end of October.
Sandy River
Winter Steelhead
Even though the Deschutes is running low on steelhead days, the Sandy
River winter steelhead season is just about to fire up. Usually by
December there are more than enough steelhead in the Sandy to start
targeting them. With big rains already hitting the Sandy, some steelhead
should already be thinking about heading up the river.
