California Delta Fly Fishing Report

DeltaNov 28, 20181 min read

Capt. Byrce Tedford reports on 11.26.18

Striper fishing in the Delta has been good this week but we are covering some water to find them. Some recent rains should clear the smoke from recent fires in NorCal. My heart goes out to those impacted by recent fires & my hope is they receive some Joy this Holiday season.

Most fish we have been finding are smaller “schoolies” but 3-5lb fish are mixed in & the occasional larger fish can be found as well! Water temperatures are 50-55 degrees in different spots within the Delta.

For Stripers subsurface I continue to use 1/0-3/0 “Steve Adachi” style rattle Clouser flies in various color combinations.

Fun story, the day before Thanksgiving looked to be a lot of rain & wind, I suggested to the guests to cancel, they said no & we ended up having an epic day, the story goes to show you just never know! Thankful for amazing guests, have a wonderful Thanksgiving week & start to the Holidays!!!
