The North state
received some nice sunny days this week, which made for an awesome time
on the river. The fish seemed to enjoy the good weather too! This river
is an awesome winter time fishery, which produces some truly big
rainbows this time of year. The numbers might not be there but the size
of the trout make up for it. We didn’t start our day till late morning,
around 10 or so by the time we started fishing, and the fishing was hot
right off the bat. Around 10:30,
There was a ton of caddis flying around, which some fearless trout were
rising for. The specials on the menu were eggs and rubber legs. So be
sure not to leave the house without a full arsenal of those! Other top
menu items were small mayfly imitations, caddis, and midges. The Lower
Sac’s most productive months are right around the corner, so be sure to
get out there or book a trip!
