Careers At Lost Coast Outfitters

LCO is always looking for talented people to join the team. If you're passionate about fly fishing, conservation, and the Bay Area then you'll fit right in. We're a fast growing fly shop that is nothing without our knowledgeable staff, and we value our employees and their initiatives in education, retail, and media. Our shop is in the heart of SF and offers the opportunity for Bay Area fly fishers to make a career out of doing what they love. If you don't see an opening below, check back often as we're continuing to grow. Perks like 401K and paid vacation are all part of the Lost Coast Outfitters compensation package.

Sales Associate

Working at LCO is an opportunity to help build the fly fishing community in Northern California and to help us build the world's best fly shop. Sure, you sell gear, but what sets our staff apart is a genuine desire to help people have fun fly fishing. We aren't a high-pressure sales environment, instead we value employees who understand the sport and can ensure that every customer gets exactly what they need. You should have a deep understanding of the sport and the gear involved, and know your way around the waterways of California. We are interested both full and part time help.

  • Great with people, from first-time fly fishers to experts
  • Extensive fly fishing knowledge and familiarity with the brands we carry
  • Strong understanding of California fisheries, seasons, and general geography
  • Pragmatic and curious
  • Experience in outdoor retail
  • Willing to help with the day-to-day duties of running a fly shop (no task is too small)

If this sounds like a good fit, send us an email. For bonus points, tell us what specifically you'd bring to the team (fly tying? casting lessons? encyclopedic knowledge of CA waterways? you name it....)
