The Truckee River is a demanding fishery, with educated trout that see their share of imitation insects. While the Truckee isn't known as a preeminent dry fly stream, it is rich with insect life and given a bit of patience and observation, you can experience some amazing hatches and find big fish looking up, throughout the year.

As a bonus, the Little Truckee River is an excellent and challenging dry fly stream, with some type of hatch popping almost every day there isn't 4 feet of snow on the ground.
