Winter Steelhead Fly Fishing Report

Riley Renick of Wild Waters Fly Fishing reports on January 7th, 2026

It’s been an unusual start to the winter. Plenty of rain, very little snow. Between the holidays and blown out rivers, we have not spent much time on the water the last couple of weeks. Coastal rivers look like they will start dropping into shape in the next few days. Our guides will be headed west this weekend, and staying until a storm sends us packing home again.

Coastal conditions change fast, rain total forecasts generally come 72 hours out, which is when we really know what we’re in for. Hoping for a few more clear days ahead. We still have some limited availability in mid Feb to mid-March. Give us a call or shoot us an email if you want to get on the calendar.
