Aaron Gabriel, The Northern California Guide

The Upper Sacramento has been fishing very well with fish caught on both dry flies and Nymphs. Haven’t had a chance to throw streamers yet but the water temperature seems about right. The other day I wet waded it which was a first for me in early April. The fishing was best in the afternoon with fish feeding on March Browns and a few PMDs I didn’t stick around in the evening to see if any adult stoneflies returned to deposit eggs. The water was very clear and camouflage clothing as well as light tippet is recommended. Call The Northern California Guide at (530)356-2189 for a quality fishing experience. Best fly patterns were:
- Royal Stimulator size 8
- Parachute Adams size 12,14
- Bead Head flash back PT’s size 12,14
- Hears Ear size 12
- Pats Rubber leg size 8
- Amber Wing Prince size 14, 16
- Dark lord size 14,16
