Pretty good fishing happening in the Lake Tahoe-Truckee-Reno area right now. We’ll see how long the flows on the river can hold out, but for now it’s good. We finally have an unsettled weather pattern instead of the bright blue bird days we have been getting, meaning the fishing will be good on the river and at the lake all week. We’ll probably have some good dry fly fishing in the afternoons, and the big fish will probably move off the banks and chase streamers too. Nymphing is good all over the river. Fish seem to be about in every type of water. I’ve been spending most of my time floating the river in Nevada, but both states are good.
Thanks everyone who came out to our Pyramid Lake clinics this year. Doug O and I had a great time teaching everyone the different rigs and techniques for the lake. Next year we’ll be back at it again.
Pyramid Lake will fish well this week with some wind and some cloud cover. We are moving into the most productive time to fish the lake. The bobber will see the best action, usually does in the spring and if you get lucky you can get some big numbers out there end of March. Fish should be cruising the shelf off the beaches more and more each day in preparation for the annual spawn. Fun time to get some friends and the bbq and some brews and go fish the lake.
