Surf Fly Fishing Report

Local SurfJan 5, 20171 min read

Jack Harrison reports on 1.5.2017

“Surf has been productive with a variety of perch of all sizes and species being caught. The big females are around but there are also lots of younger fish in the mix as well which can make for a productive outing if you can find them. The very large swells we had this fall and early winter have torn up the surf zone so expect almost any beach to have a variety of structure. I’ve found the bite to be the most productive at peak incoming and outgoing tides. As always the early mornings and late evenings have been producing regardless of the tide. Be careful wading out there, deep holes and big swells do not bode well if you go for a swim in your waders.- jack”
