SURF REPORT(Monterey Bay/Santa Cruz)

I didn’t get out my self this week, decided I better get a Christmas tree with the kids since the holidays are fast approaching. As far as the surf goes it’s looked great for surfing, and less desirable for fishing. But if you hit it at the right Tide the fish are there, and you won’t be getting pummeled as bad by the waves. Winds have been light in the AM as a solid WNW swell fills in and slowly fades in the afternoon.
My best advice this week is fish the evening to last light hours right now working that calmer incoming tide 1PM@1.08ft ~ 7PM@3.69ft. The fish are there and more bigger females should be making their appearance now and into January. I’d stick to the same Fly patterns like sand crab imitations with red or orange attractors. Others included olive flash buggers and pink/burnt orange clousers in size 8.
We have dates available throughout the holiday season so be sure to call or message to book a trip! Hope you all have a great week and we’ll see you on the beach!
