Evan Praskin reports on 2.15.2018

Well I think it’s easy to say we all enjoyed this past week of summer like weather, but things look to be cooling down a bit for the next few days. Surf perch fishing has been HOT! Got out with a first timer on Saturday and we had non stop action. A lot of freshies, (perch under 1 year old), which is never a bad sign with some decent sized fish mixed in. The morning started with a high tide 5ft@7am dropping to 0.5@1pm. Fishing definitely slowed down when we neared the end of outgoing as it pulled most the fish off the close sandbars and into unreachable water. Light NW wind in the AM that picks up by the evening. An SSW swell has filled in but should fade come mid week giving us some great Fly fishing conditions. A few Stripers are showing up within the bay, nighttime anglers are catching some great fish in Santa Cruz so we are expecting a solid season this year come spring! Give us a call or message us for questions or booking info. Hope everyone has a great week, we’ll see you on the beach!
