SF Bay Fly Fishing Report
Lost Coast Outfitters Staff Reports on Halloween
The World Series Bite is happening, even as the dastardly Dodgers are on the verge of defeat at the hands of the heroic Canadians. Air and water temps are still mild to warm and the stripers are feeding ferociously on their way to the Delta.
Crissy Field has been fairly consistent of late, with multi-fish mornings and a couple a fat pigs reported lately. Marin is kicking out some fish and Alameda too! If you have access to a boat, even better, with Tiburon, Red Rocks and Angel Island all good spots.
The ever faithful Adachi Clouser has been doing the most work for us. #2-1/0 in chartreuse, surf brown or joker colors are all good choices.
We should have 2-3 more weeks of good fishing before water temps get cold and bait disappears. Get it now, while you can.
Remember: mornings are less busy on the beach and usually see lighter winds, strip your fly into the breaking whitewash and strip-set when you get an eat.
Note: the main East parking lot is currently closed at Crissy Field, due to the government dysfunction. The West lot and the yacht club lot are both open however.
