Capt. Hogan Brown reports on 9.27.18
Lower Sac Striper fishing - Boat traffic from salmon anglers is been a bit lower as deer season is in full affect and people are off hunting or hunting the river. Fall striper fishing is in full swing and there has been some big fish out feeding as well as plenty of 3-5lb fish to fill in the gaps.

Fishing is best where boat traffic is the lowest due to salmon fishing so knowing where the salmon anglers are and where they are not is key to finding fish up on the banks eating.

Best fishing has been 8-4pm in open runs with weeds and water in the 8-13’ depth. In deeper water fish are susupended and understanding how fast fly and line combos sink and how to get them down to the fish at a given depth is key.

Fly selection seems to be of little importance - finding water with minimal boat traffic is the key.

Fishing will continue to be good through the fall months and winter as the river stays in shape.
Open Dates:Nov 3, 17, 20, 21, Dec 8, 17-21
