Lower Sacramento River Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverOct 2, 20141 min read

Hogan Brown, Hogan Brown Fly Fishing

Lower Sac Striper fishing remains good. There has been some big fish hooked this week by a few anglers I know and then by a few of my clients…fish in the 35-45lb range. There are good numbers of 3-8lb fish around and they are pretty grabby with a few in the 10lb range mixed in. It seems on most days anglers are getting a shot at a big fish in the 20+lb range and what happens with that shot is totally up to the fish gods. Water temps are in the low to mid 60s and fish are getting a bit lethargic in the upper areas of the river around Los Molinos as the water is in the high 50s to low 60s.
