Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report Stripers

Lower Sacramento Striper Fishing has been continuing to improve. Water temps have dropped 4-5 degrees and the bigger fish have seemed to go on the feed. The average size fish has still been in the 4-8lb range, but we have had multiple 20+lb fish to the boat in the last week with a few days with multiple trophy fish. With the bigger fish are in the feeding zones that usually means the shad have thinned out and they are now focusing on pike minnows and sucker fish. Clarity is perfect with just enough color that fish can feed easily but that they still are making some mistakes so to say...not a lot of follows just committed eats. Fishing traditionally hits its stride in July and lasts through early november.

I have a few dates left open coming up if anyone is looking to get out on the water. Striper fishing is usually predicated by the mood of the fish and experience of the angler on any given day but the next 2-3 months are traditionally very good
