Lower Sacramento Fly Fishing Report

Arrow Thin Left Icon

Hogan Brown reports on 1.6.2015

Again I have been spending most of my time on the Lower Sacramento River outside of Redding and Anderson. Fishing has been fair to good, pretty typical winter trout fishing….Bite is best midday when the weather is warmest and then can get tough morning/evening when it is cold. Most fish have been coming on Pheasant Tail variations and the occasional rubber leg lower in the river. We have been getting some really nice size fish which makes the lower numbers a little better. Personally I traditionally see most of my big fish in Dec and Jan on the Lower Sac. Rain this week may change things up and blow out the some of the tributaries but fishing up top should remain fair to good.
