Ryan Johnston Reports on 9.1.2016

The fishing on the Lower Sac has been really good this last week. If you are looking into some good afternoon fishing the Sac is putting out some impressive rainbows during the caddis hatch. The fish have been holding in faster water making for some really
hard aggressive strikes. All you need is a tan birds nest and Fox’s Poopah to get those rainbow looking your way.
Expect the fishing to continue this way all the
way through egg bite. Once the salmon show up then things are really
going to change. If you don’t have egg bite dates lined up then now is
the time as most guides are now completely full.
The striper fishing remains solid in the valley. Things are slowly falling off but there should be decent fishing for the next couple of weeks with the warmer weather. Right not we are getting lots of solid 5-6lb fish. The Fly that I am really thankful for
is Ryan Williams Masked Rainbow. This fly caught tons of stripers this summer and two of the biggest fish of the year. A great tie by an avid bass and striper fisherman.
Openings:
Sept 6-8, 12, 15, 22-23
October 4, 6, 18, 20-21
