Klamath River Fly Fishing Report
Anthony Carruesco, AC Fly Fishing
The song remains the same…
I’ll say it again.. Steelhead fishing on the Klamath River REMAINS good, great, grand, wonderful.. We’ve had a good dose of rain over the past week. Tribs swelled up and a lot of fish moved around. New fish have showed upriver. The flows are still low coming from the Gate (1,000 cubes) and water temps have dropped down into the low 40s. Fish have surrendered to their winter spots.
I had two of my favorite people to have in the boat out today. Bob and Dennis always bring a great vibe to the river and always wreck fish when they’re together. They put a few cool doubles to the net today too. Wether we’re trout or steelhead fishing - these guys always manage some awesome doubles. We didn’t have another boat in sight all day.
I’ve got this coming Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 22-23) still open. NOW is the time to go get em up there.
