Delta Fly Fishing Report

Arrow Thin Left Icon

Steve Santucci reports on 6.21.18

Striper fishing slowed down last week in the Delta.  It seemed that it was hard to find fish and even get a touch.  Had a great day fishing Smallmouth Bass a couple of day’s ago.  We used mainly floating lines with small poppers and small sinking flies that sink  two to three feet. We caught great numbers of fish with a few fish approaching two pounds.  You always have the chance of hooking a big Smallie.  Also with water temps around 75 degrees you can always fish for Largemouth Bass.
San Luis Reservoir is still kicking out some nice Stripers with the chance of catching good numbers of schoolie fish.
