California Delta Fly Fishing Report

Capt. Bryce Tedford reports on 12.13.18

Delta Fishing Report:

Striper fishing in the Delta has become fairly tough this week with the bite being off a bit. Still getting 10-20 fish with some medium size fish mixed in but we are having to work for them.

The season seems to be winding down a bit but the weather continues to hold & we have had some nice days on the water.

Been experiencing cool crisp mornings but warming up in the afternoon to a pleasant 60 degrees & sunny. Most fish we have been finding are smaller “schoolies” but 3-5lb fish are mixed in & the occasional larger fish can be found as well! Water temperatures are 50-55 degrees in different spots within the Delta depending on where you fish.

For Stripers subsurface I continue to use 1/0-3/0 “Steve Adachi” style rattle Clouser flies in various color combinations.
