Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Arrow Thin Left Icon

Matt Koles Reports on 2.15.2018

From warm to bitter cold today on the Truckee River.

We actually had a dusting of snow fall last night. Very cold temps today and a warm up towards the weekend.

Not much change to report other than the weather. Pretty warm daytime highs for the last few weeks and now one of the coldest days of the year. Flows have remained about the same all month.

350 cubes here in the Hirsch and about 500 down through the Conservancy. Really good flows actually for this time of year. Good wading flows for the average guy. I’ve still been down on the NV side floating through there. Might as well get while the gettings good. Been throwing streamers and some days are good other days not so much. We still get a fish of a lifetime a few days a week, not bad.
