Matt Gilligan Koles Reports 10.19.17

Cold nights, mild days on the Truckee River.
Not a lot of change since the last report. Flows and fishing and weather remains basically the same.
We have pushed some big fish around on streamers lately. That time of year. Seems like the fishing has been better and trouts willing to chase after the water warms a little bit. We haven’t really had any weather, so it’s not always the best streamer fishing in bright sunlight, but you can muster up a few. Hopefully, we can get some cold fronts coming in.
So for now, nymphing with the bobber or without has been producing fish. The tight line rigs have been crushing them. Dry dropper rigs are good this time of year too. October caddis up top and a small mayfly below on the dry dropper rig.
I’ve been doing more guiding down in Nevada on the Truckee River. It’s been pretty good. Much warmer to start the days down there, instead of the high teens it’s been here.
I will have a streamer clinic in November. I will post more this week.
