Truckee River Fly Fishing Report

Truckee River

Coming off a pretty good week on the Truckee River.

Hard to say what this week looks like with all the rain and snow coming. Should blow up the river a bit with these warmer storms. Will be good for fishing though. Spring flows are the time to get them big trout. I love that muddy water.

Like always in higher water fish the edges, fish streamers, and just find water where trouts can get out of the current. Eggs, worms, stones, attractor nymphs all work well in higher water when nymphing. Not sure what the river will look like next week, but I’m guessing some high water is coming. Ha ha, nothing like last year though. We were catching fish at 6000 cfs, well above flood stage. Not excepting anything like that. I’m very excited to see more rain and snow coming.
