Lower Sac Striper Fishing - Striper fishing on the Lower Sac continues to be good. Most days we are into double digit keeper size fish with plenty of nice 5-8lb fish in the mix. We are starting to get shots and land some of the true trophy fish that everyone comes to the river for as well. The last week we have had some nice shallow water fishing as throwing Intermediate shooting heads and un weighted flies for fish on the flats and gravel bars which is always a fun way to catch them as it is so visual. August - October are going to be great fishing on the Sac.

I hope this note finds you having a good summer full of family and fun. It has definitely been warm up here in the North Valley. With the summer heat comes our annual striper season. These last two weeks there has been lots of casting going on in the river with good success. The Sacramento River near Chico is fishing well with most days resulting in 20+ stripers a day. The good news is that this year the average size fish is way up. We have been seeing a significant larger number of 4-6lbers than we have in the past. The mixed bag of quality fish, shakers, and some 7-10lbers it has been a fun week. The water is warming up and the shad are almost completely gone. When those shad are gone then it is going to be game time for some of those trophy fish. I expect the next two weeks to be banner on the river. Cant wait to hold my first 20lber of the season. Email me ASAP or send me a text to fill in a couple last minute spots.
