Ryan Johnston reports on 7.12.2017

Sacramento River Stripers - The Sac is starting to fish well with a good amount of schoolie fish in the system. Expect things to get stronger as we get toward the middle of July. The best bite has been mid day to mid afternoon. Most of the fish are running in the 2-3lb class with Fish up to 7lbs being caught daily. As the water warms through the month expect larger fish to be caught.

Lower Sac Trout - The Lower Sac has been fishing decent for anyone wanting to get into some mid summer trout fishing. The numbers of fish have been decent but the quality of the fish has been down on the Lower drifts. For people wanting a mixed bag experience some of the smallmouth fishing on the Lower Sac has been really good recently. Expect things to really change once the opener has taken place on the upper river. I still have one date open for the first week of August.

Open Dates:
July 25, 27-28
Aug 6 (Lower Sac Trout Opener)
