Feather River Fly Fishing Report

Feather RiverOct 27, 20161 min read

Ryan Johnston Reports:

The Feather River is having a decent start to the season. It is still early in the season but things are setting up nicely over there. There are plenty of salmon and are just starting to get on redds. So expect things to star improving there in the next couple of weeks. Quite a few steelhead are still dialed into bugs so don’t be afraid to fish some nymphs below your eggs. Right now the fish are spread out evenly through the system from Oroville to Gridley. Early in the season, we are seeing smaller sized steelhead for Feather River standards. Watch for the bigger fish to start showing up in the early parts of November. With the warm clear weather coming up make sure you fish the river when light conditions are ideal.

Here are the dates that I have open in November - 21, 23, 28-29.
