Cory Godell Reports on 11.19.19
There’s no question that the steelhead fishing in 2019 has been one of the trickier years on the Deschutes. With that being said, fishing has been pretty darn good of late. Seems like a slug of fish have shown up. Swinging floating lines are pretty much done for the season. Water temps are sub 50 degrees, which means the steelhead are more lethargic and are not as willing to chase a fly, on or just below the surface. Getting your flies deeper in the water column will definitely increase your odds. A 10 foot chunk of T-11 and some sort of a leech pattern seems to be the ticket this time of season.
