United StatesThe rod is listed as a "saltwater" rod. But I purchased it for lakes and large rivers ... Lochsa in Idaho and Yellowstone in Montana. So, do not be mislead by the "saltwater" label ... although I am sure that it is great there as well. Line wt and length allow for longer casts. I wanted an economic rod for the limited number of times that I fish the large rivers, and this Orvis is perfect. I am almost exclusively a Sage user ... but they do not offer an "economy" rod in the length and weight that I needed. The Orivs lives up to its reputation ... I am very pleased with it and would not hesitate to recommend it highly.
