The Snowshoe Caddis floats high and is easy to see, both valuable traits in a dry fly, especially for rough and tumble water like the Truckee and Mccloud. The bushy white snowshoe hare wing provides a similar silhouette to the natural insects, which sport an oversized wing compared to the size of their bodies.
