Rick Mazaira, Yosemite Outfitters
This last week saw some storm fronts roll through which brought some much needed rain and snow to the Sierra. This week our focus is on the higher elevation stream and tactics in the unique low water situation we are facing. First off… THERE ARE TONS OF FISH ABOVE 7000 ft elevation!!! There was a negligible run off so now really looks like the end of June, early July. Approach is key and presentation is everything! Stay stealthy and try not to make too much noise with your feet in the water. Avoid indicators, and go with sight fishing with nymphs!!! It’s a rush!
Merced/Tuolumne: watch flows and color, the storms roll through blow these out quick.

Feel free to call or email us, and check out our blog.
Cheers,
Rick
