Valley Striper Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverJun 14, 20181 min read

Captain Hogan Brown reports on 6.14.18

Valley Striper Fishing - Fishing keeps getting better with the warmer weather and as the shad begin to spread and thin out. Most fish are in the 3-10 range with a few trophies starting to show.

With the warmer weather grass and weeds are getting going and the shallow water food chain is getting going to fish are starting to move into shallow water to feed and spread out.

Water temps can still be an issue as they are ranging from 59-69 degrees and planning your day around water temps - where you fish and when - is a key to success. Fishing will only continue to get better through the coming months.

Open Dates:

July 5, 6, 9, 19, 21, 23, 30
