The Northern California Guide reports on 5.26.2016
As far as Northern California fishing goes this is as good as it gets. Now is the time for a sampler trip, fishing 2-4 fisheries in a multi-day trip, from the chunky Rainbows of the Lower Sacramento to the selective Browns of Hat Creek, there is something for every angler and every skill level.
Hear are some photos from the last Upper Sacramento River float and some Spotted Bass fishing in Lake Shasta. It is the time to go, and George at Lost Coast Outfitters knows the flies. Stop in the shop for a few of what they are eating and head north. The Northern California Guide has availability in June and the weather has been amazing. Upper Sacramento is fishing well with Rubber legs (8) and mid-small size May flies. Some dry fly action on Parachute Adams (14) and Stimulaters (8).
Lower Sac is fishing great and it has been a PMD thing for me. Some fish on Caddis and Rubber Legs as well.
