Sacramento River Fly Fishing Report

Lower Sacramento RiverAug 13, 20151 min read

Capt. Hogan Brown Reports on 8.13.15

Striper fishing on the Sac continues to be good. The late summer shad run we have had is thinning out and the bigger fish seem to be getting hungry again. In the last week we have caught and seen many more “big fish”. Flows are still low but water temps have come down about 3-5 degrees in most areas and fish are active throughout the day. Salmon are still sparse and salmon fishermen are few and far between. Fishing should continue to be good through early October.
Open Dates: Sept 12th, Oct 3.
