Pyramid Lake Fly Fishing Report

Pyramid LakeOct 27, 20161 min read

Doug Oullette Reports on 10.27.2016

Some BIG fish are starting to come off the beaches at Pyramid Lake. This week there has been at least 8 fish released over 15 pounds! These fish have been caught from beaches all over the lake from far north to far south. Along with these giants, several mid sized and smaller fish have also been caught. We are averaging just over 2 fish per hour, mostly the smaller fish with the occasional big fish. Throughout this month and into November the fishing should continue to get better. No need to fish with the crowds, the fish are all over the lake. Retrieving flies has been getting most of the BIG fish. Best producing flies have been Popcorn Beetles, Boobys, Clouser Minnows, and Jerry Mc Bride’s Balanced Minnows/Leeches. Indicator fishing has been good also, Chan’s Bomber, Copper & Black, and Brian Dyke’s Albino Wino all have been working. To get deeper with the indicator the use of Brian Chan’s breakaway indicator is a good way to go.  www.pyramidlakeguideservice.com

Crosby Lodge is doing a Catch & Release Program, issuing 10lb.,15lb. and 20lb. pins. Come in and see some of these MONSTA fish!
