Pyramid Lake Fly Fishing Report

Pyramid LakeNov 10, 20161 min read

Fishing continues to be good, I am cautious to say great because its not a numbers game right now. There is however a really good chance to hook into a trophy sized trout of a lifetime. This past week  have seen many fish over the 10 and 15 pound mark. I have heard of a few 20 plus being landed in the past week and I got one a few days ago. It’s a bit of a grind out there right now, lots of casting with no results and then all of a sudden they roll in and people start hooking up. So, staying in the water and fishing hard is key. If you see others around you hooking up be ready

Most of the fish have been caught on the Popcorn beetle, or black bugger patterns such as the midnight cowboy with heavy sink lines. I have seen a few fish caught under the indo but, stripping is definitely out fishing it right now. If you need a break from casting try Jan’s sparkplug and either Jan’s balanced leech or balanced baitfish under it. I have some days available in the next few weeks so contact me if you are interested. 916-337-8598
