Doug Ouellette, Calvada Fly Fishing
The fishing this week at Pyramid has been very tough throughout the daylight hours. The best grab has been first light and again in the evening. The evenings have been consistent from 3:15pm to 5:00pm. Yesterday an angler released a HUGE Summit fish that weighed OVER 20lbs. and measured 35 inches! Popcorn Beetles have dominated the beach. This evening we released 12 fish from 3 to 8 lbs. The retrieve has been key. At our clinics we teach legitimate tested retrieves that have been developed from fishing the lake for over 40 years. Our next clinic is on January 31st. www.pyramidlakeguideservice.com
The water temperature measured 46 to 47 degrees from 5 to 15 ft. in two different locations. It was measured with a “Fish Hawk” calibrated thermometer.
Good luck, Have fun!
