Owyhee River Fly Fishing Report
Cory Godell, Deschutes River Anglers
Brown Trout
Even though the Owyhee River is running on fumes it can still fish good. With the lower water levels the bulk of the fish are kegged up in fewer pools. Most of the fish are looking for big meals right now, trying to get big and fat for the winter. Even though the Owyhee is open year round, we’ve only got a few weeks left of good fishing. Usually starting somewhere around the early to mid November the Browns start their spawn and it’s time to give them a break for a while.
