North Yuba Fly Fishing Report

Lost Coast Outfitters reports on 5.4.17

Our own shop rat, Brett Wedeking, fished the North Yuba River last weekend and as you’d expect, the water is ripping. With the heat wave this week the water is on the rise full of snowmelt. Water temps max out around a chilly 42 degrees.

The fish are still there however, and Brett found a few tightlining nymphs along the edges. Most of the water is white, but find the soft, green stuff and fish it slow and deep. They want to eat. Feed them Copper Johns, caddis pupae, worms and stoneflies.

The campgrounds and roads are empty right now up there, rarity in CA. Go find yourself some solitude.
