Dave Barbieri Yuba Reports 8/11/15
After an incredible spring trout season, and an awesome shad run, trout fishing on the Yuba River has reverted to typical Yuba. Experienced anglers can get good numbers of fish. Beginners have more difficulty because the fish have become selective, and spooky. Perfect drifts, quick hooksets, and effective line management, all make a huge difference.

There isn’t really any one prolific bug hatch. We are getting most fish
nymphing with stoneflies, PMDs, and caddisflies. Don’t forget attractor
patterns like the Red Copper John, or Red Headed Stepchild. Some fish
are coming to the surface for hoppers, and we are also getting some
caddis dry-fly action in the evening. We are also getting a few
stripers down below Daguerre Dam.
