Capt Hogan Brown Reports on 7.23.2015
Lower Sacramento Striper Fishing is fair to good. We have been hooking
good numbers of 2-5lb fish with a few in the 6-10lb bracket each day and
it seems every other day or so we get a true trophy. In the last 2 days
we lost 2 monster that we never even saw. The Trophy fish have been a
little harder to come by as there has been a BIG influx of American Shad
in the 6-8" bracket with a few pushing 12", not sure why they are here
or where they came from but they are perfect 10+ lb striper chow.
Fishing should continue to improve as salmon move into the river (there
are none now) and push the fish out the holes and deeper runs into the
shallows. August and September are great months for striper fishing on
the Lower Sac and when see some of our biggest fish of the year.
Open Dates August 19th
