Lower Feather

Lower Feather River Spring steelhead fishing remains fair to good. Spent a few days out swinging flies with clients in the high flow section of the river. Flows in the Low Flow are around 800cfs and around 1500cfs in the high flow.

On the overcast cooler days, the caddis hatches were a bit slower and we were getting fish on more traditional swung flies but on the sunnier days when the caddis was popping swinging oversize soft hackles and caddis pupa patterns in olive and tan were the key.
