Captive Dun PMD

Ome time I was fishing the Missouri River in Montana. There was a really good PMD hatch going off in this side channel I was fishing. I threw everything at them: Last Chance Cripples, Brooks Emergers, D&D Cripples and a few more I can't remember. I was about to leave then looked into my box and saw these nymph looking things with a CDC back on them. I tied one on and BINGO! I hooked 6 fish with that fly and it turned into a good fishing session.--George Revel

Basically a floating nymph, the Captive Dun looks like an emerging mayfly that just hasn't popped yet, making for a vulnerable and tasty meal. Hot tip: dust this fly with Frog's Fanny or Dry Shake to make it float better and sparkle like the real thing.
