Upon first look at the new Simms Waypoints Sling Pack I was blown away. The Simms Waypoints Sling Pack is in my opinion the perfect pack for your next fly fishing adventure. In a Sleek ergonomic design Simms was able to create a bag that holds just enough for the day on the water, but not so much that you feel like you are cacarrying a balloon around on your back all day. I was able to fit 2 small fly boxes, snacks, my DSLR Camera plus an extra lense, leaders, tippet, weight, indicators, and all other necessary accessories for the day and it handled and distributed the weight extremely comfortably in the pack.
As far as compartments go I felt the Simms Waypoints Sling had just enough without overdoing it. With a large side zip access for the main compartment including a small divider inside, it’s easy to stay extremely organized in the main storage area of the pack. The outer fly box area is reinforced to hold up to some impact which is also a really nice addition. This means that you could have sunglasses or other more fragile items inside and have the peace of mind that they won’t snap in half when you inevitably bump into that boulder or tree out on the stream. The last compartment is a small pocket on the top of the bag which is where I would store my wallet and keys, and since there is a secured clip inside you can be confident that you won’t watch your keys fall out of your bag and tumble down the bottom of the river.
When you match everything stated above with comfortable straps and a lightweight design its hard to find another pack that matches up to the Small Simms Waypoints Sling.
