Airflo Sniper 4 Season Fly Line

$ 89.99 $ 53.99

SKU 10307

When targeting stripers or other cold to cold-ish water predators, you need a line that is not only agressive in the taper, but also tough as nails to withstand the abuse of some challenging environments.

The Sniper line is born from our long-time favorite 40+ family of lines.  The front taper has been shortened and the tip made thicker for turning over some big, heavy, meaty flies.  Its belly and rear taper design like all of our 40+ family lines are dialed for easy distance casting.  This all new 4 Season Sniper line features a running line for withstanding any climate you may find yourself in – most importantly, they can survive the brutal heat of a sun-baked boat deck in the summer.

Available in 8wt to 10wt, and in multiple densities:  floating, intermediate, sink 3, sink 7 and a custom cut sink tip version.

Tip & Front Taper:  Short, aggressive front taper and thick tip for turning over heavy presentations.
Belly:  The 22′ belly allows for longer casts.

Rear Taper:  The extra short rear taper helps generate maximum line speed and helps with easy loading for quick casts.
Running line:  Floating and Intermediate models feature a floating running line. Sink 3 and Sink 7 include an Intermediate Running Line.

Rigging tips:
Streamers and heavy flies:  4′-8′ monofilament or fluorocarbon leader.  Typically 4x-20lb, depending on line size and fishery.  PolyLeaders in floating, intermediate or sinking varieties.

This line features the following technologies:

Climate Control - Standard

Despite the name, there’s nothing standard about our super tough Polyurethane coating.  With higher energy and slight stiffness for longer casts, we use this polymer on most of our long casting lines.

Super-Dri

Here at Airflo, we are always looking for ways to improve fly line performance. Starting with Airflo’s patented polymer, our chemists formulated Super-DRI, a new material that repels water, dirt, and surface scum better than any material in the history of fly lines. New advances in Nano Material Technology has allowed us to make a line that floats better and shoots farther than ever before… enter the Super-DRI.

All lines claim to be higher floating than any other, but in our recovery speed lab test against all other market leading brands, our Super-DRI fly lines had tip recovery speeds faster than any other line, proving that our fly lines have a lower Specific Gravity than any of our competitors in any comparable line size.

TDC

As originators of Density Compensation in Sinking lines, TDC –Total Density Compensation – raises the bar on density control regardless of line type. Controlling the volume and density of each coating, our dual layer PolyFuse XT process creates technically advanced lines with pinpoint accuracy.

For true high buoyancy floaters or sinking lines with sink rates you can rely on, look out for the TDC logo.

Power Core

You’ll be more impressed with the lines incredible suppleness and handling performance even in the harshest of conditions. With only 6% stretch, our Power Core braid improves casting control, sensitivity and hook set.

Ridge Tech

The concept is simplicity itself. Our unique ridged design reduces the lines surface area in contact with the rod guides. Consequently friction levels are vastly improved when compared to other lines on the market. Our ridges are also incredibly tough for long term durability.

100% PVC Free

The original “PVC Free” Polymer coated fly lines, we at Airflo utilize solvent free Polyurethane as the base material in all our fly lines. When we originally researched our coating technology over 20 years ago, we wanted the best possible fly line material available. A coating that would be stronger than our competitors, could resist DEET and ultimately fight off the long term effects of UV. Polyurethane provided us with this and much, much more.

Micro Loop

The ability to fuse Polyurethane post production led to the development of Micro Loops. Showing no visible signs of a step down, Micro loops blend into the main line giving smooth transition to your leader and protect your fly line from the effects of capillary action.
