How does it work?

We start off with asking you a few questions to help understand your taste, experience and future goals. It won't take long for us to work up a list of fly rods we think you will love. From there it is as simple as finding some time to meet at Golden Gate Angling and Casting Ponds for hour. In this hour we will cast the rods matched with the perfect lines as we help you find your perfect cast and enjoy the morning in one of the most special places in San Francisco. We will guide you on how to properly evaluate a fly rod beyond the standard fly shop wiggle and reading internet reviews.

What does this cost?

The cost is $100 which can be applied to the purchase of your outfit if used in 30 days.

When do you schedule shootouts?

As San Francisco's only fly shop we stay pretty busy which is why we schedule these before the shop opens on weekdays. We have two slots every morning, 7 to 8 am and 8 to 9 am. Trust me you won't regret spending the morning at the casting ponds.
